You asked, we delivered - Part 1
Let’s be honest — some of the best improvements in any product don’t come from brainstorming sessions or whiteboard meetings.
They come from users saying: “Hey, this thing could be better.”
And when you’re building something like Kloki — a tool designed to make everyday work more manageable — listening becomes the core feature. This post is about the things you asked for. The problems you pointed out. And what we did about them.
From a Frustration to a Solution
Back in 2021, Kloki started as an internal side project — a tool we called "Ne radim" ("Not working").
Why? Because we were done with tracking absences through outdated Excel files and tangled email threads. We didn’t want another clunky off-the-shelf solution. So as developers, we did what came naturally:
We built our own.
What started as a personal fix soon became something bigger — and better.

From Local to Global: A Major Leap
Fast forward to 2025, and it was time to go beyond borders.
Kloki had always been rooted in the Croatian market — shaped by local teams and feedback loops that felt like real conversations. But as we grew, something became clear:
Great tools deserve a global audience.
So we made one of our biggest changes yet:
Localization + Internationalization
- Full app translation into English
- Redesigned content for clarity and universality
- Streamlined UX for global workflows
- Thoughtful adjustments to terminology, icons, and layout
Now, your dashboard works the way you do.

What Has Changed?
One of the areas we knew could benefit from refinement was the dashboard.
It was always designed to bring key information into one place — and for many, it did just that. But as Kloki grew, so did the diversity of workflows and expectations.
That’s when we started hearing things like:
“There’s a lot going on in the dashboard — I’m not sure where to look first.”
What felt intuitive to us sometimes felt overwhelming to others. So, we kept what worked — and fine-tuned the rest.
Now, the experience is cleaner, more focused, and easier to navigate.
Vacation Days, Clear and Colorful
The dashboard’s main job?
Let you quickly see how many vacation days you have left.
That was always there — but now, it’s easier to notice:
- Color highlights draw attention to key numbers
- Information is front-and-center, not hidden in a sea of text

Absences: Simpler, Smarter
Absences are no longer buried in tabs or mixed with other data. Here's what's new:
- Timeline view: Instantly see who’s off, who's working from home, and when
- Color-coded indicators: Visual cues help you scan absences at a glance
- Work from home markers: These are now directly embedded in the timeline
- Absence Hub: One place for everything — submit, track, and review requests in a click. No clutter, no confusion
What’s Next?
We’re not done yet.
Part 2 will cover some new features we’ve recently added — including an easier way to log in, improved reporting, and more updates based on what you’ve told us.
Until then — thanks for all the feedback.
You’re helping make Kloki better, every day.
Let’s keep building it together.
